Her strength diminishes until, finally, she realizes that death is near--and learns then that death is a young lord, melancholy and stern. Leavitt makes an interesting argument for it. Other titles include Keturah and Lord Death, a finalist for the National Book Award, Tom Finder, winner of the Mr. Keturah and Lord Death by Martine Leavitt is one of the most unique and beautiful stories I have ever read. It is a story full of fantasy and romance no matter from which angle and perspective. When Lord Death comes to claim 16-year-old Keturah while she is lost in the King's forest, she charms him with her story and is granted a 24 hour reprieve in which to see her one true love. I took a week-long intensive workshop taught by Martine and learned so much about writing. This one has been getting lots of good press and was a National Book Award Finalist for 2006. Keturah and Lord Death could lead to some interesting theological debates as well as discussions about love and self-sacrifice. The book Keturah and Lord Death by Martine Leavitt changed my life.
